Welcome to the first of my Celestino Caballero blogs. Admittedly, I had never heard of him until a few weeks ago. I was introduced to him by my wife who was acquaintances with him while they were both living in Panama. Excited to have met a world boxing champion, I did a little research on him and liked what I saw.
The Caballero who is known for his brash talking and calling out of opponents is not too far from the Celestino I have started to know away from the ring and cameras. The sense of humor and extreme confidence are with him always. However, that is only a small part of the man that I have spent quite a bit of time with over the past few weeks.
The purpose of this blog will be to let the fans know more about "Pelenchin." It will contain links to articles I have written about him for other publications, as well as those my wife has written. It will also give you a look into his life away from the spotlight. Hopefully, you will become as big of a fan of his as I am and we can get him some of those big fights that we all want to see!
